Equinox expands services and delivers record turnover in 2014

Cardiff based communications agency, Equinox, achieved a record £1.2m turnover in 2015 thanks to new clients, a rebrand and new service offerings.

As part of the agency’s expansion five new jobs have been created with two members of staff receiving promotions.

The agency, which has been running for 18 years, has seen revenue increase by 12% since January 2014 with a raft of new contract wins and a resulting 31% increase in profit.

Major new clients include Cadwgan Trust to promote the £11million Cardigan Castle restoration project and the Welsh Government’s Parental Engagement campaign. The agency also delivered successful projects for Waste Awareness Wales, the Welsh Energy Sector Training and Kings Monkton Independent School in 2014.

The buoyant results come with the extension of contracts with long-term retainer clients such as Cadw, Persimmon Homes, Arriva Trains Wales and STAEDTLER UK.

The agency has undergone a rebrand to reflect its expanded full service approach, which now includes specialist in-house customer database management covering membership and magazine distribution.

The agency’s training provision around social media, media relations and crisis management has also gone from strength to strength with a 200% increase in revenue for the business.

Equinox was the most successful agency at the 2014 CIPR PRide Cymru Wales Awards, winning gold for its social media campaign for STAEDTLER UK Teachers’ Club, its media relations campaign for Cadw, Welsh Government and its public affairs campaign for Charity Retail Association. The agency also received a special award for its approach to research, planning, measurement and evaluation.

Eryl Jones, managing director at Equinox said: “We are entering 2015 with confidence following our most successful year to date, exceeding our growth targets and taking on more staff and services.

“As an agency we are constantly evolving in line with communications trends and have expanded our range of services to meet the requirements of our clients. Winning four gold CIPR awards is testament to the great work the team does.

“Our new database management service has already attracted interest from companies across the UK looking for CRM support. With a bigger team, and enhanced offering we’re investing the future of Equinox to remain as one of Wales’ leading communications agencies. ”
