Continuous Professional Development through training

Equinox is now in its fifth year of delivering face to face training for cross-party Assembly Members and their support staff as part of the National Assembly for Wales Framework for Continuous Professional Development.

Outputs: we have worked closely with the client across the contract to develop bespoke training courses (2-hour, half and full day sessions) and to add in new content when required, to meet the needs of National Assembly for Wales members.  Our key course content include:

‘Understanding & Using Media Effectively’: the media landscape in Wales; what makes a great news story; basic press release writing; pitching stories to media; social media and handling a crisis

‘Advanced press release writing’: press release writing pitfalls; rules for writing concise copy; practical release writing session; developing a media strategy; managing interviews and interview technique

How to produce video to enhance social media’: how to take a great photograph / make a great video & half day practical session in filming and editing

‘Crisis Management’: introduction to crisis comms planning, practical exercises and handling media interviews

‘Social media techniques’: basic introduction to content scheduling and performance analytics as well as advanced level course on more detailed techniques and analytics
