SolarGen Solutions is company specialising in the renewable energy and solar powered markets and designs, manufactures and installs solar powered street lighting, road signs and traffic management systems for the UK and international market.

Our Mission

Equinox was commissioned to promote and raise the awareness of their innovations, products and services to the businesses, public sector markets and wider solar power industry, a relatively new and untapped market in the UK.
The target audience was diverse which included local, regional and national consumer media, national and international trade publications, and journals for local authorities, lighting industry, house builders, architects and surveyors.

Our Approach

Our approach to the SolarGen account was two-fold; firstly we publicised the company, its staff, its products and services, and secondly, we promoted the company as experts in their field, drawing attention to the challenges and issues facing Government and consumers today, championing the cause for renewable and sustainable energy.

To achieve this aim, an on-going, proactive media relations campaign was implemented targeting consumer and broadcast media, political publications and trade press, and in particular architecture, construction, surveyors and lighting journals.

Equinox consistently gained extensive media coverage for SolarGen, especially when it launched the UK’s first grid-tied solar-powered lighting in Stornoway, Western Isles.

The Result

The media coverage created made a significant impact for SolarGen on the solar power industry in the UK and a number of new business enquiries were generated following media coverage.

Equinox tailored every release, feature or launch towards each target audience to ensure that the on-going media relations campaign was fresh and achieved its objectives, gaining extensive coverage in consumer and trade press, as well as broadcast media, across the UK and beyond.
