Equinox became the first PR agency to be commissioned by Ty Hafan, the Children’s Hospice in Wales, one of Wales’ best loved charities, to raise its profile.

Our Mission

The charity sought to raise awareness of its work among key stakeholders including the general public and volunteers, corporate and political audiences and the media in Wales.

Our Approach

Using a mix of in-depth feature placement, celebrity endorsement and a creative media strategy, Equinox has helped raise Ty Hafan’s profile in a measured approach, using all media tools.

Highlights have been the promoting of Children’s Hospice Week in 2007 and 2008, locally and across Wales as part of a wider UK national awareness week in September.

As well as securing coverage on a national and regional level with in-depth health and family case study features, Equinox gained support for exclusive filming with BBC generating coverage across online, radio and TV news programmes.

Dame Shirley Bassey, Connie Fisher and Iolo Williams are among celebrities endorsing the campaign and the Welsh Dragon Appeal involved four leading Welsh regional rugby teams supporting Ty Hafan’s bid to create a giant Welsh banner to fill the ground of the Millennium Stadium.

The Result

Through a targeted POR campaign, Equinox has helped boost fund-raising support across South Wales; raised awareness about the hospice and its services in the minds of the general public, political and corporate audiences.
